Maybe Patti flew auto parts in her plane. I don't remember ever seeing that plane on the Tarmac in McAllen though. I'm pretty sure they kept it either in Harlingen, or as you stated in the article, Liberty Tx. Some really fantastic photos of the hanger and folks that worked there including one of Cliff Hyde Senior in a nice suite standing in the door way at the operations shack next to the hanger. <br />George Mihal, Office of Image Archaeology officeofimagearchaeology.com 916-990-1157Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10061722200667268620noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6422357497022611145.post-63106059923703291392014-08-08T12:14:24.010-05:002014-08-08T12:14:24.010-05:00Flags are stilled used to communicate information ...Flags are stilled used to communicate information from race officials to race drivers, from Formula Grand Prix to Indycar and just about all forms of motorsport ,both amatuer and professional. The answer above seems to imply these communications are now primarily done by radio. Radios are used extensively for other communication, but the official communication to drivers from race stewards is done by FLAGS waved by people called Corner Marshals.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6422357497022611145.post-40457078186832175752014-06-05T08:22:26.506-05:002014-06-05T08:22:26.506-05:00Good article! Prior to 1972, it was a common mistake for the commercial airlines to confuse Fairfax Airport with the KC airport. The airports were only seperated by the Missouri river. Flying in the Midwest was alot of fun.Tea Time Consultantshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15190412460648011773noreply@blogger.com
